Regional Update:

Server Regions and Development Fundings

by Pan Diman

Updated UI with regional options.

On June 16th, VRChat added the support of new servers, allowing users worldwide to improve their experience with lower latency in one of the three available regions: the United States, European Union, and Japan.

According to the developers, information regarding the location of European servers might be classified, although it is highly speculated that they are in Amsterdam or Frankfurt.

Even though VRChat still faces many technical issues, over the past half a year, the developers provided some improvements, which, besides the servers, also include the “Identity Update,” the new reply system, and various changes in networking, which seems to remain their primary focus so far.

Thanks to updates like this, VRChat developers received $80 million (USD) from Anthos Capital, which may lead VRChat Inc. to hire new developers and expand their resources once again. To stay updated, feel free to check out the list of open positions at vrchat.com/careers.
