Recently, two developers of the VRChat world called “The Devouring” formed their own game dev company, CyFi, to turn their world into a standalone game project for Oculus Quest and PC VR.

“This moment marks the end of my Facebook employment and hardware career! I’m doing a full career pivot and focusing 100% on VR development now,” Fionna said in a tweet on February 20th, however, CyFi became an official company only recently. According to Fionna, her new boss is CyanLaser who is known for his contributions to the community of VRChat world developers.

Some of CyanLasers’s toolkits worth mentioning are CyanEmu, which allows you to test worlds in Unity directly without launching VRChat, and his newest creation, CyanTriggers, providing world developers using SDK3 (Udon) with the ability to create triggers with a UI similar to VRChat’s SDK2 without the Udon graph editor, which a lot of beginners may find confusing or uncomfortable to work with.

The other two developers who worked on “The Devouring” are Legends, a talented independent world creator, and Lakuza, the lead developer of the new Jet Set Radio Future world, although it looks like they are not working with CyFi at the moment.
