During the last week, official VRChat Discord server faced another wave of spam, possibly caused by hackers, as well as other users known as “Uganda Warriors.” According to witnesses, the channel got overflown with a huge wave of messages, some of which included offensive speech. Ruuubick explained, “Pill made an announcement, and people started spamming in it. We had to close the gates of hell and clean up”. After the incident, VR Pill posted another message, “Going forward, we will not allow links to other Discord servers in the VRChat Discord. The “Related” channel has been removed effective immediately.”

As we know, “Ugandan Knuckles” became popular in several months after tidiestflyer made his first parody avatar of Knuckles, most likely based off Gregzilla’s video called “Knuckles Sings”. The creator of the infamous avatar (that used to be called funny and original) stated, “I brought this meme to VRChat. You can literally google me, and you’ll see.” To watch a legendary video starring him, use the QR code on the right, and if you want to hear about the origins of “The Way” from Clunt_Westwood, one of the first users responsible for the meme, feel free to scan the code on the left.

However, despite his part in this, Tidiestflyer mentioned that he doesn’t want VRChat to die because of his creation. He said, “I just don’t want the memes to break VRChat. Second Life got to a point where it had so much **** going on at once that it just dropped off.”

Now, since the “Related” channel is gone, we have no place to share Discord invites, although it is still possible that VRChat moderators might allow advertising other Discord servers in the future, but for that they have to be known for having certain rules and not being against the official rules of VRChat.

Therefore, if it is true, most servers will have to get rid of piracy-related channels and NSFW stuff. But for now, you may use services of Virtual Week-ality to advertise your community, as long as it’s not against the rules.
