Since we haven’t got any new announcements from VRChat about their progress on upcoming features this week, we’re going to talk about minor facts involving users’ choices of certain worlds.

With the release of worlds that were made by otakus in VRChat, such as Japan Shrine and Hangout House, The Great Pug just stepped aside from its position of the most popular world for a few days. One of the biggest reasons to it might have been the bug that kept people from reaching the second floor through the main entrance.

Some people took notes of what happened and discussed the situation during their stay in this world. "Yeah, The Great Pug is pretty much dead now," said one of the visitors at the bar. “All my friends are in other worlds, too.

During this issue, a lot of users spent a day or two in worlds mentioned earlier, as well as a place called “Box (Lag-Free)”, which is literally a simple box with nothing else in it. Since this world proved itself to be preferable over others with more than enough content to please the audience, this means that the vast majority of VRChat may consider simple socializing with improved performance but no significant environmental content a better option rather than hanging out in unoptimized fancy worlds.

However, by the time of writing this article, more people got back to The Great Pug soon after owlboy solved a few important issues, including several bugs in his world, by uploading and publishing another update this week. Last Monday, he said, “I know about the current bugs in The Pug. I’ll be fixing them tomorrow evening.”

As Ikuta mentioned, “The Great Pug has been laggy since the Whiskers event or whatever started when the puzzle was added,” so maybe it got updated in attempt to optimize the world and improve the lighting in it.

Some thought it might have been another hint for the event known as “The Hunt for Mr. Whiskers” that is currently on pause due to several reasons, but, nonetheless, The Great Pug is back to its normal state again.
