VRChat Launches Quest Creator Program

Last Wednesday, VRChat announced the opening of the so-called “VRChat Quest Creators Program” and opened almost a dozen of new channels on the official Discord server.

“This program is an effort by VRChat to provide information to Community Developers about the VRChat Quest build, how to get started with creating Quest content, and best practices to follow,” Tupper said in the announcement.

As you may know, Oculus Quest has specific optimization requirements that are much more limiting compared to the regular PC hardware regarding both worlds and avatars, and due to that, no dynamic bones will be allowed on Quest.

However, somehow, VRChat may support cross-platform play between PC and Quest users, and they’re also going to support Oculus Go. In the same announcement, Tupper also said, “VRChat Go is a development version that we don’t plan to support long-term, but it is a good substitute for the Quest until it releases.”
