User Posing as Celebrity for Weeks

There is a VRChat user named Jackie going around by the username "MoeShop", the name of a popular musician. Jackie has been impersonating Moe Shop for almost a month, he was promoting the music of Moe Shop on a Discord server for VRChatters called "Weeb Department" and he was also typing out tweets from Moe Shop's page, pretending as if they were his.

Iceek51 got fed up of wondering if this was indeed the real musician himself, so he started asking questions in the VRChat Discord. A user named GiveMeAllYourCats got back to him and told said they had lots of fun times and talked a lot, but Iceek51 didn't believe it was indeed Moe, so he dug deeper and found a tweet from Moe saying, “I never went on VRChat, there's just a guy using my name.”

Later, Iceek51 and GiveMeAllYourCats dug deeper. That is when they found Jackie replicating tweets in the Weeb Department Discord. They also found a video from a popular YouTuber named Jameskii, and Jackie was in the video pretending to be Moe Shop. However, later Jameskii mentioned it to Moe and then realized it wasn’t the real one.

The detective decided to take it into his own hands and tweet at Moe himself. After giving him all the information, Moe tweeted to his 20,000 followers, “Oh, um, someone's impersonating me.”

Then Snail’s House, another famous artist on the Internet, joined in on the drama. Through Twitter DM’s, both Moe Shop and Snail’s House joined the Weeb Department Discord, but Jackie was offline. They all talked about the solution, and Moe decided to just message him and wait for Jackie to wake up.

Later, Jackie came and said that he knew he did something wrong, that he'll change his names and make a public apology video to come clean. After all this, Jackie made a public response, "The reason I used the name ‘MoeShop’ was because I couldn’t think of a name to choose for VRChat at the time I was listening to his music, so I chose the name ‘MoeShop’. Every time I played the game, everyone was saying, ‘Are you the real Moe Shop?’ constantly, so I just ignored them or went with the flow. Jameskii made it out of control when he tweeted it, and even worse when Moe Shop retweeted the tweet without any context. So yeah, I am very sorry for all this!"
