Last Saturday, a new user called Philip J. Fry mentioned that he lost a friend who was playing VRChat while Fry himself wasn’t even aware of the existence of desktop mode.

On March 31st, Philip J. Fry visited the official VRChat Discord server for the first time ever, and it seems that he never even launched VRChat before. His very first message was, “Where is voice channel?” to which Advert-chan replied that our Discord server doesn’t have any voice channels at the moment. After that, the newcomer said, “But this is a virtual reality chat. And I assume that social active people want to talk here too. Not just in the game. And I don’t have VR glasses... I can’t use VRChat.”

However, the next minute, he found out the truth about the desktop mode from Advert-chan. At first, he was confused, but then he responded in shock. “... I deleted a person on Steam which used VRChat,” he said. “I liked him. He stopped chatting with me... Then I deleted him.”

As soon as Fry admitted to his mistake, we decided to make a story about his tragic story, because last week nothing happened, and we had to make this stupid news article about something anyway.

We don’t have too many details regarding the person Fry is looking for, but this what he said, “I don’t remember what the name of his favorite game is. 2D side scroller survival game.”

‘Gaylord GER’ was my nickname once,” he added. Then we asked for the name of the person he’s looking for, and he replied, “Don’t know that either... But he loves Stardew Valley. That should be enough, there ain’t many who love this game. He prefers an old version of this game.” In the end, he made one more comment. “Nobody knows me as Philip J. Fry,” Philip J. Fry said, “I have various names. And he probably knows only Gaylord.”

So, there you have it. If by any chance you know a person who used to talk to you on Steam and hates a good popular indie game for no reason, please contact Philip J. Fry, you may find him on our Discord server.

Picture of Philip J. Fry, AKA Gaylord GER, submitted by himself. No, this is not a joke.
