Hidden Public Avatars Get Accessed

Avatar Collections.

As it is known, at the moment, VRChat avatars can be either private or public, and although some that are public can usually be accessed only through cloning, one world has changed it all.

About two months ago, a world called “Avatar Collections” has been published in VRChat for the first time, and even though it’s been in development for at least 4 months, it became highly popular only recently. According to its description, the world contains over 9000 public avatar pedestals, most of which none of them have been published with the explicit approval of their creators.

Although it certainly helps with finding public avatars, which is often desired among newcomers and Quest users, some of the issues users raised are about creators who used to be active in VRChat years ago but haven’t made their avatars private.

“I listed some of my old avatars as public but never put that one in a world. And was never asked to have it placed in a world...” said Jetdog, one of many avatar creators. “Under some other situations, I wouldn’t care like someone I knew putting my sanic model in a world. But I don’t think this person is respecting the avatar creators.”
