Literally Nothing Changed:

Introduction to Web Sockets

by Pan Diman

Screenshot of things that actually got changed in VRChat with web sockets.

During the night between March 19th and 20th, VRChat experienced a server blackout lasting about 3 – 4 hours. Nobody knows why this happened, but we’re assuming it’s got something to do with the new web sockets.

In their latest Medium post published on March 23rd, VRChat mentioned that “they needed it done quickly and there weren’t any easy alternatives,” which is exactly why they added web sockets in the first place, in order to make their own network operate faster.

If you’re curious about what’s going to change, it’s literally absolutely nothing, according to the official commentary provided by VRChat Inc. themselves. Yep, I’m not making this up.
