VRChat community becomes more active during winter holidays, one of the facts confirming this was the Ugandan invasion in December of 2017, which is remembered as one of the main reasons why VRChat reached over 20,000 concurrent players.

Even though many users, especially those who don’t have VR, left the game, and the current stats on Steam Charts are telling us that the peak number of players was only 8,702 over the past 30 days, many of them are still active and may not be using the Steam version of VRChat after the relatively new release on the Oculus Store.

Regardless of the statistics, numbers of events keep growing, according to the calendar highlighted in the “Events” channel on the official VRChat Discord. Surprisingly, VRChat Inc. didn’t include any mentions of the Times Square world, which is going to serve as a place for celebration of the New Year’s Eve in a traditional environment filled with cardboard cutouts of celebrities, hundreds of unique community references, and, of course, real people, including streamers, developers, and various content creators.

Meanwhile, another event planned for the New Year’s Eve is being promoted by SPOONPAI who said, “I'm celebrating one year of VRChat Parties on New Years with my community. I take New Years as the date the community was actually created.” If you want to join SPOONPAI’s party with live DJs, feel free to use an invite link to “VRChat Party Community” in the “Community Servers” channel on Discord.

Even though we still don’t have an in-client calendar for events, our Japanese community outdid the developers once again and released a package with a calendar you can use in your VRChat world to track live updates regarding community events without any reuploads.

If you don’t like the traditional way of checking the calendar, you may use the prefabs provided by kohack_v, known as the Leonardo da Vinci of VRChat, so all you’ll have to do from now on is learn Japanese. As simple as that.
