The Hunt Approaches the Grand Finale

After almost 5 months of waiting, an event called “The Hunt for Mr. Whiskers” was announced to come back this week along with the new episode of “Gunter’s Universe” that has been on break for several months.

A Discord server Gunter made for the event started to show new signs of activity last week. Last Thursday, on October 4th, users noticed that the server had two new emojis added, both of which represent The Egg from the start of the event.

Later, around 11:53 PM UTC on that day, the server’s icon got changed. Then, the icon’s background color was changed several times, and even more hints appeared in front of the users. All of this was followed by the announcement Gunter made in regards to his very own event.

“Gunter's Universe is back!” he said last Friday. “I have a great show lined up this Sunday at 10pm Eastern. We are having a panel of VR developers on to recap their experience at Oculus Connect 5. You won't want to miss it.”

Also, Gunter wrote more about the event on Twitter, “After Gunters Universe [10 PM EST] The Hunt for Mr. Whiskers returns! Your job is to find the 5th & final piece needed to advance to the [grand finale]!”

So far, over 60 users already completed the latest challenge, but the event is not over yet. By the looks of it, Gunter is going to host his show two more times before taking another break. The entire event plays a big part in Gunter’s promotional campaign, and the closer we are to his last show for the time being, the sooner we’ll see the grand finale.

Apparently, VRChat staff decided to bring back the event, since The Egg is considered a symbol associated with custom scripting, which means that we are getting closer to the release of Udon, VRChat’s brand new tool they’re going to provide users with instead of PlayMaker.

According to our predictions, it certainly seems like we might see more information regarding Udon after Spookality, VRChat’s ongoing Halloween event that is supposed to end on October 28th.
