The Audio Glitch Is Finally No More

At long last, VRChat received a brand new update that finally put an end to one of the biggest issues in VRChat since late 2017, and we’re talking, of course, about the one and only audio bug.

Recently, Tupper made an announcement regarding new changes, “Issues with audio spatialization failing when users with audio clips on their avatar load/play audio have been resolved. Yes, you read that right — the audio bug is dead.”

As long as we’re not getting any new signs of the audio glitch, we’re getting more and more positive feedback from people celebrating all over the worlds of VRChat. “Judging by the lack of complaints on the subject, I guess the audio bug is really dead? That is huge! Nice job, VRC team,” said Vilar on VRChat’s official Discord server.

A lot of big figures in our community seem to be quite happy with the change as well. Right after the update got released, Lucifer MStar made a comment on the situation, “Oh golly. Are you glad the audio bug is finally over? They finally fixed it, it only took them $4,000,000 to do that.” Later, Zeon pointed out how significant this issue was for the users as well, “Audio glitch was the worst thing ever. It was literally the H***** of VRChat.”

And that’s not all. Our desktop users may finally rejoice, as they are now able to use gestures with keyboard. Here’s how 1-UP Nuke reacted to the update, “Aaah! Gesture overrides for desktop! And audio bug is dead! I am so happy!”

However, the update also brought a new movement system for the Vive users, and a lot of people seem to have a hard time getting used to it. “I was so excited to play last night, and this completely ruined it,” said Luca. “Can't wait for them to add the old movement/gestures back.”

And yet, VRChat development team is restless as ever. Ron responded, “Aware of all the Vive motion/gesture feedback. We'll look into making it an option to use old system. Meanwhile, thanks for feedback and hang in there until we can get to it.” In the meantime, we’re reminding you that a new SDK was uploaded, so make sure you keep yours up to date if you’re going to upload anything any time soon.
