A few days ago, on October 28th, another Halloween event/contest organized by VRChat reached its end, and now that the judges made up their minds, VRChat announced the winners.

“Happy Halloween (give or take a few days) to [everyone]!” VR Pill said. “We have tallied up the votes for the Halloween Contest. Below are the winners of the Spookality 2018 VRChat Halloween Contest. We want to thank everybody who participated in this contest, the 13 community judges, and the countless community members who judged for the community choice portion of the contest. Winners will be attempted to be notified by email and will have 10 days from notification to accept the prize.”

Unfortunately, the list is too big to be fully mentioned in this article, but you can access it on the official VRChat Discord server in the “Announcements” channel. It seems that the most unique title belongs to SnipSnap who created a world called “Project Alice <BETA>” and won in the “Community Choice” category.

As it was mentioned previously, last year, prizes for the best worlds and avatars included HTC Vive and Vive trackers. However, this year, the only thing contestants could win was Threadless gift cards, which doesn’t have anything to do with VR.

Apparently, some people were disqualified from the contest for certain reasons, the most common one of which must have been the use of copyrighted content. Eventually, this led users to even more drama, especially regarding SnipSnap’s world that some users thought included external assets the creator shouldn’t have used.

And yet, regardless of the issue, VRChat moderators asked the community to avoid similar discussions and submit an email to moderation@vrchat.com if they think their work got misjudged.

In order to check out this year’s worlds and avatars submitted by VRChat users during the event, feel free to go to the “Halloween Event Hub” world and see if you agree with the final results of the contest.
