This month, VRChat team keeps bringing more updates to their platform, and last week every VR user received an ability to spawn a camera that can be used for taking screenshots or streaming.

Last Tuesday, an update got released by the development team. The most popular features presented in it were cameras and the “Home” world that serves to you as a private instance every time you log into VRChat.

On that day, Tupper posted a message, “You will now spawn in the new VRChat Home when you launch. Explore the Help videos, some nice music, the latest Developer Update, and a few other fun toys. You can invite your friends to your Home!”

The update received some positive feedback, and although it seems like the point of it was to assist current VRChat streamers who used to be huge back in the day, at least it’s better late than never.

“So we get a new camera and own home and mirror as well? And the camera works like the one in avatar testing?” said Yekesoh Sekoh last Wednesday. “On nice, so I have no reason to leave my home… Just like IRL, except to work… And I have no reason to go to avatar testing to make new friends… I love this game!”

According to the update notes, it seems that there must have been “general server stability improvements.” However, just recently, last Sunday, people were complaining about not being able to update their avatars. That’s when a user called 1001 explained how you can avoid this issue.

“That's what I did since the new SDK, this is a server-side error that prevents me from uploading anything because it won't upload pictures at all,” they said. “I think I was the one that posted that always uploading a thumbnail works and detaching the BP if it doesn't.” Therefore, if you’re still having this issue, try uploading a new thumbnail image for your avatar.

Of course, another thing worth the notice is that we can finally adjust volume of avatar audio sources separately from the rest. Make sure you adjust it to a proper level before you encounter any toxic users online.
