On December 31st, nekobueno released his long-awaited video produced in collaboration with over two hundred unique YouTubers, Twitch streamers, and VRChat content creators, titled as “VRChat Rewind 2018”.

The video doesn’t seem to be as popular as other uploads on nekobueno’s channel who may be known for his Cat Parade videos, but even though it got only about 15,000 views during the first week of 2019, it is considered a successful example proving that even after suffering from occasional toxicity and partial discord, VRChat community still remains in a good state.

“The collab was stressful but fun,” nekobueno responded during the interview, “Besides the fact that I got to meet a whole lot of new people, we only spent a few minutes together as the recordings didn’t take that long since I took a week to plan out all the scenes and script it out.”

As the organizer said, they spent up to 70 hours recording the video, but he couldn’t get everyone he wanted in it. Sadly, we don’t know the full list of people wanted in the project, but it is certain that not everyone was featured in VRChat Rewind, including various creators and side characters, such as gm3, SwaggerSouls, Doublegoose, Chris Patstone, StealthRG (Chipz), MaTSix, Melodica Dude, Pan Diman, and many others.

“Besides getting blown off and ignored in game when I went to go ask certain people I wanted to be in the collab, many others were contacted through social media and Discord,” nekobueno continued. “Sadly, not everyone checks their messages nowadays.” It is quite possible that a few of them didn’t receive the message or decided not to take part in the collab at all. Some of them, for instance, Pokelawls, might have not been in the video because of drama in the past, unless he also quit VRChat due to personal circumstances.
