As it was anticipated, VRChat team announced another Halloween event, traditionally called “Spookality 2019”, and what may be possibly the biggest update of 2019, the Unity 2018 upgrade.

Just like last year, Spookality 2019 prizes include a $50 coupon on any item in VRChat’s merch store, which made the community assume the developers may not be highly motivated to encourage production of user-generated content right now.

However, at the moment, VRChat is working on the long-anticipated Unity 2018 upgrade in the open beta, which may reach the live version this November. “We currently plan on keeping this open beta running for about a month, ending with the full release of the Unity 2018 upgrade. As mentioned above, we’ll be actively working on the update during that time.”

On top of that, they accidentally released either a bug, or a feature that allowed players to fly freely without any colliders on their avatars. Shortly after that, the “feature” has been removed, which left a lot of VRChat users upset about losing something they enjoyed for a short while.
