Twitch Crackdown on VR Streamers

The VR community has seen the growth of Projekt Melody, with a following of nearly 10,000 on her Chaturbate account, as well as her exponential growth on Twitch.

Due to Melody’s success and the attention she brought to streamers similar to her, Twitch began a crackdown on popular VTubers and VR streamers, most notably Artsy who had their account suspended and has experienced nearly 20 days of a “3-day suspension” for promoting sexual content, although Artsy’s Twitch has avoided sexual content for since their very first suspension 2 years ago.

In recent days, SilverVale also had their account suspended for “promoting sexual and explicit content.” Both streamers have been working hard to achieve the status of Twitch partners, having applied many times to no avail. Both they and their communities are confused, as when compared to real-life streamers, there are many accounts genuinely promoting highly explicit content, which the VR community has criticized Twitch for many times over. It’s currently speculated this is due to Amazon’s crackdown on anime-related material.
