Engineer Uses AI to Detect Waifus by Face

Last week, it was revealed that SCRN developed their very own facial recognition system powered by custom shaders allowing users to recognize faces on avatars within VRChat.

According to SCRN, this system works thanks to “SVM using HOG descriptors implemented in fragment shaders”, whatever that means, and the shader can be used by anyone as a part of a VRChat avatar. Although the creator calls it unfinished, anyone can download SCRN’s project from GitHub (https://git.io/fj6Vw) and even use it to develop their own systems with machine learning.
