Happy New Year, everyone! On New Year’s Eve, during his latest live performance outside of VRChat, a musician known worldwide as deadmau5 used a recording of Justin Roiland featuring Rick and Morty from “Rick and Morty.” This happened during the New Year countdown when the song got interrupted by the characters from Justin Roiland’s show that appeared next to the VRChat logo.

It seems that with the attention beingbrought to VRChat by fans of deadmau5, as well as well as the Rick and Morty fan base, we might experience even more issues with newcomers, and some representatives of the community don’t seem to be excited about it.

“RIP servers once the floods of new users starts getting even worse,” sporeboy100 said. “And it was a collab with Justin Roiland. Brace yourselves, the noobs are coming.” And according to Karma, VRChat is about to turn into a “’How do I get a custom avatar’ simulator” once again, after which he said, “Yeah, I'll probably use my microphone less and less, as it gets more toxic.”

On the other hand, Taishita Taishou commented in response, “Probably minuscule compared to the growth of VRChat after PewDiePie, Jameskii and Alpharad.” Therefore, some users in VRChat are still convinced that the app has seen worse than that, although it doesn’tchange the fact that the numbers may grow higher than ever pretty soon.

However, there is another issue that still remains unsolved. As you may know, there is a minor drama that has been going on for about two years after Jameskii said “Hello” to deadmau5 and got blocked. With VRChatbecoming a common place for both fans of deadmau5 and Jameskii, we’re hoping that the drama between furries doesn’t spread here aswell, because, otherwise, Virtual Week-ality might become the next DramaAlert, and in that case our lead editor could turn into a gnome.
