All Natural Egg Dyes

For Cassis Purple:

12 large eggs

1 teaspoon white vinegar

2 cups purple grape juice

8 cups water

Place all ingredients in a 4-quart saucepan, being sure eggs are arranged in a single layer. Bring to a boil, turn off heat and rest for 10 minutes. Remove eggs from cooking liquid (reserve liquid and allow to cool if you want a deeper egg color). Submerge eggs in ice water to cool completely. For deeper color, return cool eggs to cool liquid; cover and refrigerate overnight.

For Caribbean Blue:

12 large eggs

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1/4 head of red cabbage

8 cups water

Remove eggs from cooking liquid (strain and reserve liquid and allow to cool if you want a deeper egg color). Submerge eggs in ice water to cool completely. For deeper color, return cool eggs to cool liquid; cover and refrigerate overnight.

For Soleil Yellow:

12 large eggs

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1 teaspoon turmeric

Place all ingredients in a 4-quart saucepan, being sure eggs are arranged in a single layer. Bring to a boil, turn off heat and rest for 10 minutes. Remove eggs from cooking liquid (reserve liquid and allow to cool if you want a deeper egg color). Submerge eggs in ice water to cool completely. For deeper color, return cool eggs to cool liquid; cover and refrigerate overnight.
