Elizabeth Gela and Despina Bliomba were chosen as DHS Students of the Month for the month of May. Both students are members of the class of 2020. They were nominated by the English Department. Here is what their teachers had to say about them:
“Elizabeth has been a role model in English class throughout the year, displaying exemplary effort and a proactive attitude. She consistently demonstrates a genuine intellectual curiosity and exhibits all the qualities that true scholars possess: she is inquisitive, thoughtful, and incisive. She is a motivated young woman with an impeccable work ethic and considerable self-discipline.”
“Despina is an exceptionally curious and dedicated student who makes the most of every learning experience. From her CSI-style parody of A Tale of Two Cities to her pointed satire of the college admissions process, all of her work reflects her unique and insightful perspective. Several of her teachers commented on her hard work and growth over the last three years, and the English department has benefited greatly from her presence at the school.”
These two students exemplify Dedham High School’s Core Values of Rigor, Responsibility, Relevance, Relationships, Respect and Resilience.
