Directions:
Lima beans: • savory, thyme, dill, nutmeg
Snap beans: • sesame or poppy seeds, dill, basil
Beets: • sweet spices such as cloves, allspice or cinnamon
• also dill and celery seed
• mixed pickling spice creates pickled beets
Carrots: •allspice, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, basil, tarragon
Broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower:
• dill, marjoram. basil, celery seed, toasted sesame or caraway seeds
Tomatoes: • almost any herb, but especially basil or oregano
Summer squash: • herb of your choice, also curry or chili powders, or cumin seed
Corn: • curry powder, chili powder, nutmeg or oregano
Spinach: • nutmeg
Potato: • caraway seed
Squash: • cinnamon
Potatoes: • Mashed - add a bit of lemon juice
• add a bit of mashed turnip
Variations:
