The original Day Family Cookbook
Ingredients:
1/3 cup butter
2-¼ cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
3-½ teaspoon baking powder
1-½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Directions:
Melt the butter in 13x9 oblong pan.
As soon as butter is melted, remove pan from oven.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Slowly add the milk.
Stir until dough just clings together.
Turn onto well-floured board.
Knead lightly - about 10 times.
Roll out ½ inch thick into rectangle.
Cut dough in half lengthwise.
Cut crosswise into 16 strips.
Dip each strip in melted butter.
Twist and lay in rows in pan.
Bake at 450o for 15-20 min.
