Original Day Family cookbook
Ingredients:
4 quarts blossoms
8 quarts boiling water
6 lbs. sugar
2 yeast cakes
4 oranges chopped
2 lbs. seeded whole raisins
2 lemons chopped
Directions:
4 quarts blossoms. Wash.
Put in preserving kettle.
Pour in 8 quarts boiling water.
Let stand 4 days.
Then strain through colander.
Add 6 lbs. sugar.
Boil 10 min.
Cool.
2 yeast cakes dissolved in lukewarm water.
4 oranges chopped, 2 lbs. seeded whole raisins, 2 lemons chopped.
Leave 9 days.
Strain through linen cloth.
Put in bottles.
Cork loosely.
After several weeks, cork tightly.
