Ingredients:
½ cup soft butter
6 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons light brown sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat in an egg. Sift and add flour, baking soda, and sale. Spoon by rounded tablespoons into paper-lined muffin tins (16). Bake 375o oven 10-12 mins. As soon as cupcakes come out of oven, spoon 1 tablespoon topping over each and return to oven. Bake 15 mins. longer. Remove at once from tins.
Topping:
Beat until thick:
½ cup light brown sugar
1 egg
Salt
Stir in:
1 cup (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate bits
½ cup coarsely chopped nuts
½ teaspoon vanilla
Variations:
