Directions:
Look for fresh, green sprouts. Cut off the stem end and then incise a cross in the butt to help them cook quicker. One pound of sprouts will serve four people. Don't overcook. Cooked a short time, they will be bright green, have a slightly crunchy core and no odor. Easier to cook in boiling water, uncovered, than to steam them. Cook for 5-8 min, depending on size. Drain and serve with melted butter, or toss with an oil and vinegar dressing.
