Ingredients:
3 egg yolks
½ cup cold water
1-½ cups sugar
1-½ cups flour
3 egg whites
Vanilla or lemon flavoring
Directions:
Beat egg yolks and cold water for 7 min. Gradually beat in sugar and flour, a little at a time. (Sift flour 4 times, add salt).
Beat egg whites until stands in peaks - not dry. Fold whites into other mixture. Add vanilla or lemon flavoring. Bake at 350o for 40-50 min. Use angel food pan. Cake should double in bulk.
Variations:
Try using orange juice in place of water; add a little orange extract.
