Original Day Family Cookbook
Ingredients:
1-½ pound skinless hot dogs, cut in thirds or sausage
8 slices of white bread, no crusts, cubed
3/4 pound cheddar cheese, shredded
4 eggs, beaten with dash of salt
2-½ cups milk
3/4 tablespoon mustard
1 can cream of mushroom soup
¼ cup dry vermouth
Directions:
Brown hot dogs or sausage. In 9x13 pan put cubed white bread. Then add cheddar cheese, shredded. Then layer the hot dogs or sausage.
Beat eggs, salt, milk, and mustard and pour over above mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Pour cream of mushroom soup and vermouth over top. Bake at 350o for 45 mins. or at 300 for 1 hour. Serve with quick bread, fruit, champagne. Serves 8.
