Carob Brownies
Original Day Family Cookbook
Ingredients:
½ cup butter
2/3 cup honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup carob powder
3/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped nuts
3 tablespoon milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350o. Cream butter with honey. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in vanilla and salt. Sift together carob, flour and baking powder. Stir with nuts and milk into batter. Turn into well-oiled or buttered 9" square baking pan. Bake 30 mins. or until done.
