Tomato Pudding

Ingredients:

    • 1 cup brown sugar

    • 1 cup tomato puree

    • ¼ cup water

    • 2 cups bread cubes, crust removed

    • ½ cup melted butter

Directions:

Combine brown sugar, puree and water. Cook 5 min. Meanwhile, place bread cubes in a casserole; pour butter over bread. Add tomato mixture. Bake at 325o for 50 min.

Variations:

  • 1-1-½ (not packed ) cup brown sugar

  • 2 10-½ ocup cans tomato puree

  • 6-7 slices (4 cup) bread cubed

  • ½ melted butter

  • ½ teaspoon basil

  • ½ teaspoon salt
