What inspired you to create the Urban Projects sports equipment club? How has it shaped your high school experience?

My friends and I, [came up with] our idea in sophomore year. We wanted to give him back to the community and the school specifically, because we noticed that our school doesn't have the best sports equipment. So we decided to create an organization throughout sophomore year and then junior year to create a program that did that.

You went to the Winter Youth Olympics for speedskating. What was the experience like?

Honestly, it was really fun. It was a little bit unlucky for some of the races, but I think it was a great overall experience.

Recently you have traveled to different countries for speed skating competitions. Where have you traveled to?

I mean, off the top of my head I’ve been to Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Korea, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Italy.

Where do you intend to travel next?

Well, there's the Olympics in 2026 in Milan Cortina in Italy. I’ve been to Italy, but that's where I hope to go.

What do you plan to do after high school?

After high school, I will probably take a gap year and then train for the Olympics in 2026.

What’s your favorite memory from your time at Masterman? What are you going to miss the most?

Probably the people and meeting my friends and stuff like that.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years, and what do you hope to accomplish?

I want to go through college and then business school and hopefully go into consulting.

Who’s affected you the most in the school and what have you learned that will impact your future?

Probably Mr. Gilken because he's really chill about all the skating. I missed months of school at a time, so he's really nice about it.

What field of study are you interested in pursuing in college? Why are you interested in that field?

Business, specifically consulting and management. I noticed there's inequity in skating, especially with the US Federation, so being able to manage how the finances are being handled there.
