Boys Basketball Team Issues Formal Complaint Regarding Lack of Funding and Opportunities

Masterman’s boys basketball team recently filed an official complaint with the school district citing lack of sufficient equipment and few scheduled regular season games as the driving factors behind this campaign for fairer treatment. “It really isn’t fair that the girls team gets all of the nice equipment, they get to practice in the gym at the best times and they have way more games than we do. I mean sure, they are better than us but still, it isn’t fair, we need to stand up for ourselves.” says one of the key members behind the complaint. Another teammate added to this stating, “just because one of their players scored 1000 points all on her own and we’ve only scored that many points as an entire team in 10 years doesn’t mean that it is right that we are treated this way”. Their petition will be heard first by the school district and possibly even by the PIAA. This petition has come about due to the hard work and dedication of both the boys on the team and their parents. “Boys basketball is constantly being overshadowed by the girls. I mean just look at Caitlin Clark. The boys don’t have anything like that.” says one concerned parent. In this noble pursuit for fairness and equity we wish our Boys team nothing but the best.
