What do you plan to major in/do in college?
I don't know..maybe business, I think that it is a degree that is very interdisciplinary. So like, business management - I can manage my own company, like an *entrepreneurship.* Although, that's also usually offered as a separate major and not all colleges have it.
What TV show or food is one of your guilty pleasures at the moment?
I haven't been watching too many TV shows lately, because of school, but I’m still salty about the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (The last season was canceled on Netflix.) A food..I like naan bread. I haven't made it in a while though. Gotta have time for that yeast to rise.
What are you looking forward to this thanksgiving/holiday season?
I'm looking forward to a friendsgiving with my friends. Throughout the break, I won't have that much free time though.
You have been a member of the girl’s swim team for a few years now. Do you recommend that people join? What do you love so much about the team?
Y’all should join the swim! I joined swimming in sophomore year - two years ago. I wanted to join freshman year but I was scared because I was intimidated. I was really sad that we didn't have an 11th grade season - although we could have if we had more members. So senior year we are gonna go all out. We need more people to join. Join swimming. Please. I'm a lifeguard, I’m a swim instructor. I could literally live in the water. I wish I had gills... Pisces all the way, my zodiac is very fitting.
Any advice to your freshman self?
It just gets harder. Incredibly harder. In 10th grade there’s NHD, in 11th grade - actually 11th grade was pretty chill except for AP tests and being virtual. Although, I did not learn a single thing. In 12th grade...you should know what you want to do for college because I don't and it's very difficult. And don't take discrete. DO NOT take discrete.
What are a few of your most commonly used nicknames?
Kera calls me bonionionionioxide or box as many onnies as you want. It's a sixth-grade nickname which came during a gym period where we were moved to a science lab. Kera saw a periodic table and so she made a new element: bonionioxide. People also like to call me bon bon.
Do you own any collections?
I collect rocks and seashells that I think are cool and they sit in a box in my house. I also collect buttons, because they're pretty, cute and also helpful. Like if a button falls off, I can just sew a new one on.
What do you like about sewing?
I like sewing because I can make things that fit me because my body proportions are weird. Pants and sleeves tend to be very long. I often hem things 3 to 4 inches sometimes. I've been making a jean jacket since freshman year, but I don't know how to sew sleeves, so it's just been sitting there. But it's really cool because its color is blocked and it's made entirely from recycled jeans. I want to paint some of it and embroider it in the future.
How has your senior year been going so far? Do you feel different as a senior?
More sleep deprived but I've cared less about my grades because I've accepted the fact that I'm going to fail discrete. But I'm sticking with it because I get free parking spaces and it stops in May, so I don't have any math classes after that.
