What are you most looking forward to in college?

Getting in. Aside from that: meeting new people outside of those who I've known for seven years and counting, living on instant ramen, learning things that I can't learn in highschool, buying my own snacks, and doing things that I never had the chance to do before

What is your favorite holiday season?

I know it's generic, but I love the winter holidays (Christmas/Hanukkah) and New Years because it's one of the only times of the year that people get together to celebrate something. It's such a vibe, driving around in the dark, seeing Christmas lights, giant gingerbread lawn statues terrorizing houses, Christmas trees, and smelling the winter air. The gift giving season is so lovely because it gives me an excuse to bombard my friends with gifts and cheap erasers. :].

You're in charge of the Vibe Art Magazine and the Art Club. What do you love most about these clubs?

I think Vibe/Art club is one of the few clubs out there that generally feels genuine. People come just to Viibe and have fun and enjoy art or make art even if they don't necessarily know everyone in the room. Even those who can't come are super kind and encouraging towards us! Having a common interest in art shows when it culminates in our quarterly Vibe art magazine

issues, where we compile art from around the school in a magazine and website designed by working together. It's super nice that we can come together despite any differences in this way and grow the artistic community at Masterman since it doesn't always have as obvious of a presence as the other fields of interests.

Spooky season is approaching! What Halloween costume are you planning to do?

I’d choose the costume that will look the most aesthetically pleasing, costs the least, takes the least amount of time and has the least stress involved in creating it so maybe...a ghost sheet?

What are your biggest Masterman pet peeves…?

I can't choose one so unfortunately I will have to put three. Number one is when the teacher leaves the cursor hovering right over the playback bar of youtube videos and you have to sit and suffer in silence for the remainder of the 40 minute documentary. Number two is having lunch at breakfast time and dinner at "whenever I feel hungry between 3-8pm" time. My third is when roaches occasionally boogie in the corners of classrooms.

How does it feel to be a senior? Do you feel like a senior after a year and a half of virtual learning…?

Jocelyn’s Caption: I'm a senior…?

What advice would you give to your Freshman self?

Enjoy your free time while you can, you slacker...

What is the scariest/spookiest experience you’ve had while home alone?

Once, when I was trying to get water at 2:00 am in 5th grade when my family just moved into a new house, lights off, something punched me and ran away...I was completely convinced that the house was haunted until my brother told me that he taught me, a small child trying to figure out where the counter was, was an intruder. :-(
