4th Annual DHS Debate Championship Results

Here are the full results from our 4th Annual DHS Debate Championship & Awards Night held on May 1:

• Rookie of the Year = Harry Murphy (Class of 2021)

• Most Improved = Julia Doyle (Class of 2020)

• Best Teacher Debater = Ms. Rocha (English)

• Best Researcher = Carly Paul (Class of 2020)

• Best Public Speaker = Alondra Msallem (Class of 2020)

• Marley Belanger Award (aka Best at Cross-X) = Daniel Pasciuto (Class of 2021)

• Best at Rebutting = Will Dwyer (Class of 2021)

• Most Dedicated = Noah Layne (Class of 2021)

• Unsung Hero = Tim Vaughan (Class of 2020)

• Debater of the Year = Joe Dooley (Class of 2020)

• Hall of Fame = Elizabeth Carroll (Class of 2019)

• DHS Debate Tournament Champions = Harry Murphy & Daniel Pasciuto

The tournament saw 8 teams pitted against each other, first in a preliminary round, and then in the playoffs. The championship match, which was live on stage, was judged by a panel of 9 special guest judges, and featured just sophomores this time (Harry Murphy & Daniel Pasciuto taking on Will Dwyer & Joe Iantosca).
