Spring Sports have recently started back up again just in time for the warm weather.

Girl's varsity softball is 6-5 despite some recent disappointments, such as the loss of first baseman Grace Dileo due to a knee injury and a senior captain leaving at the end of the season.

Superstar starter first baseman Grace Dileo has recently announced that she is out for the season with a knee problem. Though despite the devastating news, she perseveres and comes to every game to show her love and support for her teammates.

Her support never falters. “These girls are my family and I'm so proud of them and the work and effort they have put in so far. Softball is not a one-person sport; you have to rely on the people around you to get through the game." Dileo said.

That's not the only news that has the team saddened. The only senior on the team, captain Jillian Olbrys will be leaving this year. Everyone is fully aware of this fact but determined to push it aside and make the best of what is left of the season.

The thought of leaving my people behind makes my eyes water every time. Despite that fact I know the juniors and underclassmen will take great care of our team” Olbrys said.

Despite the disappointments, the team is currently 6-5 and looking forward to ending a successful season.

The entire team can feel the dubs in the upcoming games and is riled up. They're ready to face their next opponent and as the team says “DESTROY THEMMMM”. Everyone is on their toes ready for the rest of the season and what's to come.
