"What will you remember most from this school year?"

By The Mustang Gazette Staff

June 10, 2021

“What I’ll remember most about this year is all the schedule changes, so going from 2 days a week to 4 days a week and all the other changes that were made throughout the year.”

Mr. Goncalves, World Language Teacher

I'm gonna remember the fact that I went through a whole school year never actually getting to know my teachers, or physically seeing them Humans are very social creatures and social interaction are important but during this whole year remote some students couldn't socialize with other students, chill at lunch or even talk with teachers ...and that's a little weird because that's an important part of school. Besides actual school, your teachers and friends are supposed to see you grow throughout your 4 years there but for this year that didn't happen.”

Luis Rodriguez , Sophomore

“I will remember all of the different changes and how everybody adapted to these changes, how many schedules we changed, how much work had to be put in, and the team effort it took.”

Mrs. Anne-Marie Wagner, Secretary

I will definitely remember the one-way hallways, and all the adaptations we faced this year, and all of the stages we went through starting with not going in, online, cohorts, and only eating lunch at school with a month left.”

Colin Sangiacomo, Sophomore

I will remember everyone being in masks, staying socially distanced, and all of the new forms of technology.”

Ms. Rebecca Newman, History Teacher

I will remember how weird remote learning was and how it was even weirder going back into school."

Jonathan Blount, Sophomore

I am not sure if there is one specific thing, but I am sure I will remember the countless times I got the "my wifi is down so I can't log on" emails. I will also remember how quiet it was in the school during remote Wednesdays and how Mr. Goncalves, Mr. Burrill, and myself would order lunch on those days.”

Señor Reyes, World Language Teacher

I’m going to remember how awful remote learning [was] and how hard it was for teachers to reach students and students to reach teachers.”

Mr. Dan Deluca, Special Education

“I guess what I'll remember most about this school year is how different it was. I’ve been teaching almost 20 years and I think after a while every year is very similar so I feel like this year we couldn’t have seen what was coming, so not being able to interact with students normally was probably the most striking thing.”

Mrs. Leichtman, History Teacher

“I will remember the sports I did this year. They were a lot of fun.”

Julia Mace, Freshman

“I’ll definitely remember online school and only coming into school two half days a week.”

Rina David, Freshman

“I will remember making pancakes while learning from a computer. Definitely one for the books.”

Natalie Gale, Freshman
