Norwood High’s Friendship Club has been faced with a unique challenge this school year amongst the backdrop of a global pandemic, now having to host their yearly activities while also following strict health guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone.

The Friendship Club has been working hard to ensure the safety of all of their members during these trying times. Although Friendship Club looks different this year, the club still has all their usual events planned, like their annual Halloween party and holiday karaoke.

According to Señora Kelley who runs Friendship club, this new obstacle has been quite challenging but she claims that “it’s very rewarding”.

Even “just having people say hey I’m really excited for Friendship Club” was a huge reassurance for Kelley, and helped her gain confidence that the club would be able to survive through this pandemic.

Friendship club member, Josef Grant, says that despite the challenges the club faces this year, they “have [had] more people to join than ever”.

Mya Santos, a junior at NHS who has been in friendship club for 2 years, claims that “friendship club is going really well so far” in terms of following health guidelines like social distancing and mask wearing.
