A Leader Made

Mr. Andalo is Norwood High’s resident Psychology and History teacher who comes to NHS from distant places.

Mr. Andalo has been teaching at NHS for 23 years but before becoming a teacher, he was a lacrosse coach in England.

“I was in England to continue coaching lacrosse and I was more or less a glorified Physical education teacher,” he said.

Mr. Andalo went to Canisius College, “where leaders are made” he proudly boasts.

He graduated with a degree in History and Political Science and was going to go on to do Lobby work.

“Working for a politician. Not being a politician myself, but in that world,” he said

Another thing that Mr. Andalo wants to make clear is that despite the challenges and trials that the entire NHS community has gone through these past two years, he sees a lot of good.

“I give the students a lot of credit because as bad as things have been- we didn’t like doing remote last year. This year I have been impressed with how hard kids are working.”

When he isn’t teaching he spends his time on his favorite hobbies.

“I like to go fishing, travel a little bit, and watch Manchester United.”
