Mr. Mainuli, an English teacher at Norwood High school has started a creative writing club.

This club is meant for “anybody who finds pleasure in thinking creatively, we have a group of students who are into all different forms of writing like it's not just short stories and books, it's poetry, its writing screenplays, and things for tv and movies too" said Mainuli.

In this club, students can look forward to honing their creative writing skills with other student writers. Mainuli explained that “we all talk to each other, we all work on the same prompts and we get a chance to write something new, learn a little more about the writing process.”

Mr. Mainuli’s goal "is to just encourage writers. If I can just get students to keep writing and know that this is worth pursuing [even] if you don't want to get published, it's just a great way to spend your time, a great way to just find the writers of tomorrow and to let people know that it can be for them and it's not some secret club it really is accessible to everybody.”

During the first meeting, Mr Mainuli introduced the club and gave the members 20 minutes to respond to the prompt: “I don't know why but I remember when..”

If interested in this club contact Mr. Mainuli and he will invite you to a Google Classroom where meet links will be posted.
