With an increase in Chromebook damages here at NHS, a new program has been created to deal with the influx. The team consists of students from Dr. Crowley’s Senior Technology Service Seminar (STSS) class and Technology Support staff Bob Jones’s internship program.

STSS students and technology interns are available in the library during most study periods. Many students are able to get their Chromebooks fixed by the end of the school day. Some damages may take longer.

But even with the increase in manpower, there is still difficulty fixing all the broken Chromebooks quickly and efficiently. Junior Chris Perriello said: “There are about three to four damaged Chromebooks a day and it can get very busy at times.”

The new program not only helps students fix damaged Chromebooks but also gives valuable experiences to the interns in the program. Senior Jarred Langlois says he’s learned a lot as part of this program. “The program has helped me understand that with a lot of issues, communication is very important. If everyone is on the same page, everything will run smoothly, but with the program beginning this year there have been some bumps in the road but [it] is getting smoother as the year goes on.''

“I learned a lot about technology with hands-on experience and learning how to fix different problems” Perriello added.

So, if your screen is cracked or your keyboard is not functioning correctly then make sure you get it fixed by the new NHS geek squad.
