In round one of the NHL playoffs, the Boston Bruins faced the Carolina Hurricanes. The first game was a dominating win for the Hurricanes with the ending score being five to one. Game two was not much better as the Hurricanes won the game five to two. Carolina was leading the series two to zero and going into Boston with great momentum and the potential to end the series before going back to Carolina

But in game three the Bruins had a great surge in their first home game and won the game in great fashion with the final score being four to two. In the next game, Boston came out with even more energy and won the game with ease the final score being five to two. The series looked like Boston was going to put up a real fight even though they were speculated to lose the next game as they were going back to Carolina and if the trend continued Carolina would win with a huge lead.

With all eyes on them and this looking like it could be a David and Goliath situation with the wildcard Bruins beating the number one seed in the metro division in commanding fashion in the last two games.

But Carolina quickly shut down all this speculation when they won game five and absolutely dominated the Bruins winning the game five to one. So far in the series, there has not been one game where the winning team has less than a two-goal lead at the final score.

Many were wondering if the Bruins would be able to rebound in Boston after being smacked down in Carolina just a few days before. But the Bruins would continue the trend in this series where the home team commands the game the entire time. They would go on to win the game six with a final score being five to two.

By this point in the series, this was proving to be interesting but everyone thought that the series was done and over with seeing as they were going back to Carolina for the final game. But this game was different the Bruins came out of the gate looking better than they had in any of the other games in Carolina.
