Tiktok trends have been becoming more popular and we have several cases here in Massachusetts involving school buildings and teachers.

Challenges, including vandalizing bathrooms and even assaulting teachers have been stirring up trouble in area high schools, including NHS.

ELL teacher Donna MacTavish says, ¨Well I think the devious Tik Tok challenges are terrible. My daughter is a senior in high school. At her school they are also having these challenges happening like the devious ones. I would like to see more positive challenges going around for sure" she said.

There was a recent incident at Braintree public schools involving slapping a teacher. According to NBC 10 Boston, "Braintree's interim superintendent, Jim Lee, noted in announcing "our first case" of the "slap a teacher" challenge that assault carries the risk of expulsion and legal ramifications."

While some students found these challenges funny at first, many say they aren't anymore.

¨I don't really think they are funny. I mean, they were at first but now they are getting old¨ said sophomore Colin Campbell.

Sophomore Gen Claudio agreed.

¨I don't think it is okay. In the beginning when they were like the devious licks like I kind of thought they were funny, but when they got so extreme-- when they started stealing things, and when it escalated to hitting teachers it is just like not funny anymore.  There is a line and it is just unacceptable and that is just not humorous anymore" she said.
