On Monday, June 6, head coach Bruce Cassidy was relieved of his duties as Head Coach of the Boston Bruins. The Bruins released a statement that said, "After 14 years working with Bruce, this was an extremely difficult decision."

The Bruins made a big run with Cassidy back in 2019 but unfortunately lost in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Since then they have not made it that far and Cam Neely decided to look over other options and find a new coach.

The Bruins' front office has not yet named a new coach yet. The season will start in the fall and hopefully, the new coach will begin in the summer to make a smooth transition.

The Vegas Golden Knights hired Bruce Cassidy on June 14 and he will replace coach Pete DeBoer who was fired in May after the team missed the postseason for the first time in franchise history.

During the six seasons Cassidy had for the Bruins he had a 245-108-46 record and won the Jack Adams Award as the league's best coach back in 2020. He also led them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs 6 times.

The Bruins are still searching for a new head coach as of now but they should find one by the end of the month.
