Hello! My name is Kallie McCann. Welcome to the first edition of “Let's Talk” which will highlight NHS girls and will give advice on certain topics we all deal with such as, jewelry, outfits, relationships and insecurities.

Tis the season of love…or not. As everyone knows Valentine's day is around the corner and some of us do not have Valentines to spend time with so I'm here to spread around Galentine's day!

I have spent a few years celebrating Galentine's day with my friends and honestly, it has been such a fun time! The key to a great Galentine's day is effort. Here are a few ideas that you and your friends can do:

Have a Picnic

This seems a bit unrealistic because of the icy weather but an indoor picnic would do just fine. Everyone brings one thing to eat or drink and will share it amongst themselves.

Movie Night

Watching movies is a great way to pass time but also to enjoy one another's company. Snacking on popcorn while talking and watching a funny, scary or romantic movie is something my friends and I love to do.

Go Out To Dinner

Dressing up to go out to a fast-food dinner is an idea that has been trending for a few months now. Dress up with your girlfriends and share some chicken nuggets and a strawberry milkshake at your favorite fast food restaurant.

Karaoke and "Just Dance"

"Just Dance" is a personal favorite way to hangout with my friends. Any day of the week could be used to hang out and play "Just Dance." With that said, It is a fun activity to do during a Galentine's day hangout.

Baking

Desserts are always a fan favorite and no matter what always turns out good. From baking for fun or baking as a competition, it is fun to complete the process and then have a tasty snack after. A plus would be to make the desserts Valentines day themed such as a heart cake or pink and red cupcakes.

No matter what you pursue for Galentine's day, you won’t get bored with any of these activities.

Enjoy your Galentine's day, Mustangs and check back soon for the next edition of "Let's Talk."
