“I don’t have any dislikes [be]cause it’s so early in the school year, but what I do like is I’ve been able to see students smiles again and be able to have great conversations. But so far I’ve been enjoying working on college and post-secondary planning with students, but as I said no dislikes yet.”

Christine Lynch, Guidance counselor

“I like my teachers so far, and I like that  I am not getting a ton of work yet which makes it a lot better. But, I feel like it’s kind of boring with the start of school and getting used to everything. I like the schedule change since I don’t have to get up as early.”

Chloe Caravello, Sophomore

“I don’t like that there are hall monitors in the school watching kids every step. I can’t even use the bathroom without a teacher walking in and it feels like an invasion of privacy.”

Shauny Crawley, Sophomore

“I definitely do not like the later start times. It's really not inconvenient but I already get home late and it just gets pushed later. Then I stay up later and do my work. So I wake up early anyway [and] so I’m just waiting around for school to start with nothing to do. “

Olivia Lesavage, Senior

“I think one thing I dislike about this year is that we have period 7 at the end of the day throughout the week. I feel like it is kind of exciting because you can look forward to a class before that, but now you have the same class over and over again at the end of school when you’re tired and want to go home.”

Sathvika Kommera, Senior

“I like that the start times are later because I can wake up a bit later. It is nice sleeping in, but with that I also don't like that sports go later which means you get home later than usual.”

Grace O'Rourke, Junior

“I like that things are more back to normal and we don't have to wear masks anymore. But one thing I don’t like is that we now have to put our phones in the cell phone holders and that school is starting to get more strict with the rules.”

Kathryn Greene (left), Sophomore

“We can only enter through the main entrance now. Yeah, that’s not cutting it for me. I’m almost late to school every single day because my car is parked on the gym side and I have to walk like a really far way to get in school just to walk a really far way in the hallways back to the gym. So I think they should just keep the door open and after like 8 o’clock they should lock it again. That would be very helpful for my life.”

Sarah Mccarey, Senior

“I like that it feels like a more normal year and that everyone is coming back with a new fresh mindset.”

Jeanne Morrisson, Guidance Secretary

“I was one of those try hard kids who would enter the school at like 7 am. So the fact that I can only enter the school 25 minutes before stresses me out. I used to do my homework in the morning and now I can’t."

Maura Beades, Senior

“I really enjoy the freedom that we have. Actually, never mind. We have to put our phones in a phone holder--for every class-- where’s the freedom in that?
