May 3-7 was Teacher Appreciation Week. NHS showed appreciation for all the hardworking teachers in the building (or remote) throughout not just this week, but this entire school year

In February, the PTO and Boch Toyota provided staff with lunch from a taco truck. On Boston Red Sox Opening Day,  NHS worked with the PTO to honor the teachers with a hot dog cart and gave each staff member a goodie bag filled with baseball-related treats. Finally, on May 6,  the PTO provided an ice cream truck to say thank you to our dedicated and hard-working teachers.

Here are some personal teacher appreciation shout-outs from students.

“One of my favorite teachers is Mr. Buhler. He is so kind to all his students and he is an all-around amazing teacher. My other favorite teacher is Mr. Lee. He’s extremely funny and

a very great teacher as well."

Annie Sisk, Junior

“Mrs. Scannel is my favorite teacher for sure. She’s so chill and understanding and super cool in general. She knows how to let her students have a good time.”

Ruben Jean Louis, Junior

“My favorite teacher at NHS is Mrs. Harnett, my chorus/music teacher. She’s extremely easy to talk to and I enjoy her class and have fun while I learn. Music teachers are the best teachers; they are so engaging. Mrs. Harnett feels like a friend more than a teacher, and she really knows how to connect with her students.”

Stefanie Kurtiqi, Freshman

“Ms. Newman is one of my favorite teachers. She’s always checking in on me if I’m not in class, and she shows a lot of support and knows how to help. Mr. Harris is also another favorite teacher. He always puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh.”

Bert Martir, Freshman

“I would say my favorite teacher has to be Mrs. Benson. She is so patient with her students. If I need help or haven’t finished an assignment, she never makes me uncomfortable or pressured. She makes sure we know it’s okay to ask a question or need help with something.”
