Steak tip battle:

Conrad's v. Lewis'

For years the town of Norwood has been riddled with debate and vicious conflict over which restaurant has the better steak tips.

I wanted to stop the warring and bring the town of Norwood to peace, so I've set out on a mission to try both Lewis' and Conrad's steak tips. The winner will be determined by three rounds.

Round 1:Price

The battle begins with Lewis' located on 92 Central St. in Norwood.

The ¨Original steak tips¨ are priced at $19.50 and although the name of the item is rather basic, the price is most definitely reasonable.

My experience at Conrad's was similar. I surveyed the menu but was more quickly drawn to the name: ¨Conrad´s World Famous Marinated Sirloin Steak Tips.¨ Conrad's were priced even better at $16.50 although this can vary by the market price of the meat.

Based on cost, round 1 goes to Conrad's.

Round 2: Display

When the food arrived on the tray at Lewis' I was instantly mesmerized by the aroma protruding off the plate.

The smell was so good it could wake the dead-each and every one of them crawling from their graves to seize the prize.

The meal looked fabulous; all I had left to do was sink my teeth in.

Although I was not prepared for when Conrad's steak tips emerged from the kitchen. All other sounds faded, my eyes locked in on the dish, and the feeling could only be matched by that of listening to an angelic choir.

The dish was set in front of me and the scents caressed my nostrils, it was heaven on earth.

Lewis´s put up a fight but Conrad's just got the upper hand. Furthermore, Conrad's takes the second round.

Round 3: Taste

I injected my fork deep within the Lewis' steak tip and launched it down the hatch. To my disappointment, the steak tip was not incredibly tender and the flavors were most definitely enjoyable but it didn't exactly hit the spot that I had hoped.

I recreated the scene in Conrad's but was met with an entirely different experience. Flavors danced around in my mouth as if they were ballerinas or professional ice skaters making figure 8s in my mouth.

Then when my teeth began to flow through the meat I was met with the wonderful truth; that these steak tips were incredibly tender which made them incredibly easy to eat.

The third and final point is awarded to Conrads.

It was a knockout. Conrad's won the crown and now deserves to sit upon the steak tip throne of Norwood.

Although Lewis' put up an incredible fight and definitely deserves some spotlight.

I would encourage everyone to go try both places and come to their own conclusion but I think Norwood can now rest easy with Conrad's as their steak tip king.
