It was a sunny, clear day on Thursday, Oct. 20th when this year's annual Clubs and Activities Fair was officially rolled out outside of the NHS gym.

With appearances from clubs ranging from the Environmental Youth Coalition,  to the Dungeons and Dragons Club, there were representatives from almost every club organized at Norwood High.

From the Chess Clubs' massive chess mat to the Asian Cultural Club's presentation on bubble tea, the fair was held to introduce the many different clubs and activities that are being held at NHS to students new and old.

Senior Khang Nguyen of the Asian Cultural Club was pleased with how the fair went.

“The fair went really great there were a lot of people there and I'm really impressed with the turnout,” he said.

While the general sentiment reflected the positive attitude toward the turnout, some students at the fair were critical of how it was handled.

Sophomore Dejah Newton was somewhat overwhelmed by the disordered crowd of students.

“I think I could have been organized better and I think they should have brought people out in groups instead of just letting everyone come out at the same time,” she said.

Despite the overall positive reception and a good turnout for the fair, Administrative assistant Jeanne Morrison saw room for improvement.

“I felt it went well. But next year we will probably do two different sessions. So we’ll do ninth graders and new students to Norwood no matter what the grade for 20 minutes, and then the upperclassmen will have their own session for 20 minutes,” she said.
