In honor of teacher appreciation week, we'd like to shine the spotlight on one of the wellness teachers here at NHS. Mrs. Glynn opened up on her time being a teacher and more.

“Both my parents were teachers which was a big inspiration,” she said, “I also babysat a lot when I was little and I loved to help kids.”

She became interested in teaching physical education and wellness as a child. “I moved when I was younger, and... [while] my first school I went to didn’t have gym class, the new school did.” Mrs. Glynn said. “After that experience, I thought it was such a cool job,” she added.

Mrs. Glynn was inspired by her parents to become a teacher. Meghan Serratore, The Mustang Gazette.

Mrs. Glynn said that her favorite part of being a teacher is being able to interact with students, and doing new things every day.

“I’ve been teaching for a while, and what I like is that you really get to know your students and sometimes even become friends with them outside of school, after they become adults," she said.

“A nice feeling is having a student for so long and then seeing them coming back and teaching here at NHS themselves” Mrs. Glynn added

Although Mrs. Glynn really likes teaching students at NHS, she has fun hobbies she enjoys outside of school.

“Outside of teaching I really love yoga, and I like to bike a lot," she said. “I also recently became a grandmother, so I really like to spend time with them and my whole family.”

Overall, Mrs. Glynn shares that she had always really enjoyed school as a child, and planned on becoming a teacher right after her first gym class as a child.

“I always liked to play sports, and enjoyed lots of activities like that, and I thought that was such a great job to have, and it really is."
